Bespoke joinery and media walls in Blackpool

Precision Joinery and Tiling builds bespoke joinery across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. Media walls with integrated fires and lighting, alcove units, wall panelling and fitted storage made to fit the room you actually have, not the room a catalogue was designed for.

Made for your room, not adapted from a catalogue

Bespoke joinery from Precision is built to fit. The alcoves in a 1930s semi are not the same depth. The chimney breast in a Victorian terrace is not plumb. The living room ceiling is not flat. A qualified joiner works with those realities. Flat-pack furniture does not.

We build media walls, alcove shelves and cupboards, wall panelling, fitted wardrobes, home office units and library shelving across Blackpool. The design conversation happens at a free site visit. We bring material samples, talk through the finish options and agree everything before a saw is switched on.

What bespoke joinery includes

Each piece is quoted from a measured site visit, but this covers what a typical bespoke joinery contract with Precision normally includes. All materials and fixing are part of the price.

  • Free site visit, measuring and design advice
  • Workshop fabrication using selected materials
  • On-site fitting, scribing and finishing
  • LED lighting circuits coordinated if required
  • Electrical sockets and media ports included
  • Primer and undercoat applied ready for painting
  • Chosen hardware fitted and adjusted
  • Site cleaned and cleared on completion

Bespoke joinery and media walls across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast

Media walls are the most requested bespoke joinery job we carry out in Blackpool. A well-built media wall houses the television, hides the cables, incorporates the fire, adds shelving and can include cupboards, integrated lighting and speaker enclosures, all in one purpose-built piece. The difference between a media wall that looks right and one that looks like a box with a television on it is in the detailing: the reveals, the proportions, the way the TV sits in the opening and the way the lighting is concealed.

Alcove units, wall panelling, fitted wardrobes and home office furniture follow the same principle. They are made to the measurements of the actual room, scribed to the actual walls and finished to a standard that holds up when the room is lit properly. We use MDF, hardwood, plywood and composite depending on the application and the spec, and we will tell you which material is right for your job rather than defaulting to the cheapest option.

What to expect during a bespoke joinery installation

Most pieces are made in our workshop and brought to site for fitting. On-site fitting involves scribing to walls, adjusting for floors that are not flat and making sure everything is level and true. Electrical work for lighting and sockets is coordinated before the joinery is fixed so that cables are hidden inside the structure rather than chased in afterwards.

How the bespoke joinery process works

We start with a site visit to measure, discuss the design and agree the finish. A written quote follows with a lead time for fabrication and a proposed start date. Once confirmed, materials are ordered and fabrication begins in the workshop. Fitting is scheduled once the piece is built and the site is ready to receive it.

Why choose Precision for bespoke joinery in Blackpool

Qualified joiners, not flat-pack assemblers

Craig is a time-served joiner who has been building bespoke furniture and fitting rooms across Blackpool for over two decades. The skills that make a staircase work properly are the same ones that make an alcove unit sit flush and a media wall look considered. That training is not something you replicate with a YouTube video and a mallet.

Designed around the room, not around a template

We do not have a catalogue of six options. We measure the room, look at how it is lit, ask what you want to use the piece for and design accordingly. If a recess is two different depths side to side, the shelves are built to accommodate that. If the ceiling drops at one end, the unit rises to meet it properly rather than leaving a gap.

Ready to paint, ready to live in

Bespoke joinery from Precision is primed and undercoated before we leave, so it is ready for your decorator or for us to paint if you prefer. Hardware is fitted and adjusted so doors and drawers work correctly from day one. We do not leave a half-finished piece and ask you to sort the rest.

Cannot rate Craig enough. He has done an amazing job of tiling my bathroom floor after another plumber botched the job of fitting the bathroom. Highly recommend Craig and really looking forward to having him back to do some more jobs in my house. Really nice guy and fantastic work.

Craig has recently hung some oak doors for us. We were really delighted with the workmanship and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone.

I phoned Craig desperately wanting some help with fitting my bathroom. He was very quick to respond, gave me a quote within a couple of days and was most helpful with picking the best boards and flooring. He is very genuine, honest and always puts 100 per cent into his work.

Questions

Bespoke joinery questions answered

What is a media wall and how much does one cost in Blackpool?

A media wall is a built-in unit that houses a television, fireplace or both, usually with shelving, cupboards or LED lighting built around it. Cost depends on the size, material, finish and whether a fire or floating shelves are involved. Most residential media walls we build in Blackpool fall between £1,500 and £4,500 fitted. We will give you an accurate price after a site visit.

Can you make joinery to match my existing woodwork?

Yes. Matching existing skirting profiles, architrave details, door styles or cabinet finishes is something we do regularly. In older properties where original mouldings are hard to source, we can reproduce them. We bring samples to the site visit to confirm the match before anything is made.

Do you make the joinery in a workshop or on site?

Both, depending on the piece. Most cabinet carcasses and panels are made in a controlled workshop environment and fitted on site. Scribing to walls, cutting around existing features and fitting is always done on site. This produces a cleaner finish than building everything in a living room and is faster overall.

Can you build alcove shelves and units in a Victorian or Edwardian house?

Yes. Alcove units in period properties are one of the most common jobs we do in Blackpool. The alcoves are rarely square, the chimney breast is rarely plumb and the floor is rarely flat, which is precisely why it takes a joiner rather than flat-pack furniture to make them look right.

How long does bespoke joinery take to make and fit?

A pair of alcove units typically takes two to three days on site. A full media wall with joinery, electrical work and tiling can take four to six days. Lead time from confirmed order to start date is usually two to four weeks depending on the current programme.

Can you include an electric or gas fire in the media wall?

Yes. Electric fires and fire surrounds are straightforward to include. Gas fires require a Gas Safe engineer for the connection, which we coordinate as part of the quote. The chamber and flue requirements vary by fire model, so we confirm the spec before anything is built.

Do you do wall panelling as well?

Yes. Fluted panels, shiplap, tongue and groove, Venetian-style battens and framed panelling with or without a painted or stained finish are all work we carry out. Panelling is quoted per room based on the area, the profile chosen and the access difficulty.
